The Failing Mexican State: Blame NAFTA, Part 1 & 2

You say we "Blame America First." Indeed. For it is truth.

And not its stoners, either. The USer/global mega-corporations like Smithfield Farms, Con-Agra, and 3M are the real culprits behind the collapse of internal Mexican security.

The indigenous agriculture economy collapsed, corporate farms destroyed subsistence economy, the prices of staples (mainly corn) sky-rocketed, and the net result was that the peons--poor, unschooled, untrained, unsophisticated, bloody-minded peasants--were thrown off their lands, abandoned by the State, more or less forced into the arms of the narco-trafficers.

And blame the Drug War, too, while you're at it.
