This seems to fall right in with President Shamwow's excoriation of the Democrats in Washington for not showing "leadership". It is the average Congresscritter or Senator who is supposed to lead, not the President, or the Majority Leader or the Speaker - no, they are just window dressing. If you were elected to a leadership position, your role is apparently to issue vague statements about what ought to be done, then contradict them a few weeks later, then wonder why those other folks aren't leading.

Congress is a deeply broken institution but so is the entire American political system. If we didn't have a populace that was 30% morons and 90% sheep, we should have a Constitutional Convention and start the fuck over. As it is, we are doomed. If you are under 40 and have a skill, sell what little of your home you actually own and buy a ticket to somewhere else. This country is circling the porcelain drain.
